As the cold weather is slowly setting in here in Poland, I’m left going through photos, thinking about warmer times and dreaming about the magic of Trieste. The scenery and the memories and the solitude left me prone to day dreams of literary icons and meet-cutes in beautiful cafes and boys I knew when I was a teenager. Months later, the musings I dreamed up still stick in my memory, a warm residual glow of summer in an early-onset winter.
A sampling of the views from the Parco della Rimembranza.
Cafe hopping–Caffé degli Specchi, Caffé Tommaseo, Caffé Torinese–just a few of places you can go for old-school cafe decor and vibes. It’s not for nothing that Trieste is famous for it’s coffee. And as always, don’t forget the gelato.
I love Trieste! Beautiful architecture and great food!

Great photos, as usual. Moustache aside, you look just like your daddy James Joyce.
