Don’t ever believe a traveler who claims that they travel to “absorb other cultures”. While learning about other people, their culture, their history, etc is a noble goal, I don’t think you can spend 2 weeks in India and suddenly know everything there is to know.
Beware of going to church on Easter Monday in Eastern Europe. At least make sure that your legs are covered.
The more you travel, the more friends you have in more places (high or low is irrelevant for this conversation). The more you travel, the more you realize nothing and no one exists alone.
While it’s easy to see the things that divide us, sometimes we have to find the things that unite us. Like dumplings. Everyone loves dumplings.
There will be a lot of vodka, pork products, and terrible music, yet somehow it’s a wonderful time. Be prepared.
