The month of April is Lviv Month here in Wrocław, the 2016 European Capital of Culture. All month long there are events centering on Lviv and Ukrainian culture in general. Today a friend and I visited the exhibition Ukrajins’kyj Zriz: “Transformations” on Rynek. Admission is free, and there are some really great pieces (along with some very creepy pieces, but what else is new with contemporary art) spread throughout the 5-story exhibit.
Many of the pieces deal directly with the ongoing civil war, an issue I am now reminded I need to know more about and study more in-depth. Nothing like art to jolt your political consciousness, eh?
If you live in or are planning to visit Wrocław in April, check out the Lviv Month page for more information.
